Venezuela - made samand to hit market soon 2006 / 06 / 17

TEHRAN - The first batch of the Iranian passenger car Samand to be produced in Venezuela will hit the South American nation's market by November this year, an official with Iran's Ministry of Industries and Mines said.

The contract on the manufacture in Venezuela of the Iranian sedan, Samand, has already been finalized and the first series of the cars will be offered soon, a report quoted Mohsen Shaterzadeh as saying here on Friday.

He also commented on the exports to the South American nations of the Iranian farm tractors produced at the Venezuela's assembly lines and said, out of four types of the tractors built in Venezuela only one model is currently exported.

He also referred to the opening of Iran's Ministry of Industries and Mines Representative Office in Caracas, Venezuela, and said the office was tasked with directing and coordinating the projects being carried out in the country.

The memoranda of understanding agreed upon by the Islamic Republic of Iran and Venezuela currently hit well over 120, the official also announced.

Iran to export Samand LX to Bulgaria

Iran Khodro and a Bulgarian automotive firm have signed a contract upon which Samand will be exported to this southeast European country, ISNA reported.

Iran Khodro has announced that according to this contract, in the next four years, 1800 Samand LX cars will be exported to Bulgaria.

This figure will increase if Iran Khodro manages to manufacture diesel burning engines.

Iran Khodro's Bulgarian side is one of the major car companies in this European state and is already Lada's sole representative in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria does not have a car manufacturing company and has a minimum need for annually 30,000 cars.
