TEHRANTIMES-TEHRAN -- The Small Industries and Industrial Park
Organization of Iran (SIIPOI) and Venezuela’s VENINSA company have
signed a memorandum of understanding, the SIIPOI announced here on
Monday.
According to the MOU, the two organizations agreed to establish
industrial parks, workshops, and technology service centers in
Venezuela.
There are also plans to set up a joint committee whose director and members and will be introduced by May 2007.
The committee’s first session will be held in June 2007.
Ten cooperation documents were signed by the parties on public and
private sectors at the 4th Iran-Venezuela Economic Commission meeting.
The meeting was held in Iran and was attended by bilateral economic officials.
Also Iran-Venezuela contracts and drafts of contract worth $17 billion,
Islamic Republic of Iran News Agency (IRNA) quoted here on Monday as
Mohsen Shaterzadeh, Iran’s deputy minister of industries and mines for
economic and international affairs as saying.
The implemented and future projects are valued at $201 million, he added.
Iran and Venezuela signed contracts for cement, non-alcoholic beverage,
and milling factories projects worth $2,554,170,000, he stated.
Shaterzadeh added that the value of projects mentioned in bilateral
memorandum of understanding (MOU), such as shipbuilding factory and oil
rigs are about $7,448,750,000.
Exploration on gold and diamond, establishing OPEC bank and providing
media facilities are among other future plans worth $2.88 billion, he
said.
