In a meeting with Iran's ambassador to Brasilia, Mohsen Shaterzadeh,
Reinhold Stephanes noted Iran's "remarkable" capacity in agricultural
and animal husbandry. He mentioned that Iran is the biggest producer of
chemical fertilizers in the Persian Gulf region; such a supply could
fully support Brazil's growing fertilizer demand.
The Brazilian minister for agricultural developments said that
Brazil is looking forward to expanding agricultural trade with Iran.
Brazil has already shown her readiness to engage in Iran's ethanol and
livestock projects.
For his part, the Iranian ambassador to Brasilia said that his
country sees Brazil as a major supplier of agricultural products and
called for more cooperation between the two countries seeks to attract
foreign investment for developing its economy where agriculture plays a
vital role.
